We have added two brand new Redbird TD Simulators to our airport!

Made possible by a grant from the Ray Foundation, the Jasper County Airport now owns and operates two Redbird TD Flight Simulators as part of our Flight Training operation. Maintain your instrument currency, supplement your flight training, or spark your love of flying with the ability to log actual flight hours!

Any licensed pilot, licensed student pilot, or anyone with a certified flight instructor! In addition, regardless of licenses held, anyone can fly our simulators without an instructor present during attended business hours (M-F 8 a.m.-5 p.m. CT). Whether you are interested in building your own or would simply like to get a glimpse at the controls, our Airport Manager will help you get started.

Our sims cost $35/hour to rent and instructors are paid separately. KRZL based pilots receive a 25% discount.

With instruction, you are able to log 2.5 hours of simulator time towards your Private Pilot Certificate and 10 hours towards your Instrument Rating.

The sim represents a single-engine piston aircraft, like a Cessna 172. You will be able to choose between a standard 6-pack configuration equipped with a Garmin 530, or a glass cockpit configuration equipped with a G1000!

Each of our simulators feature:

  • Alloy RD1 rudder pedals
  • Two additional 27″ monitors
  • Aviation Headset Connect with LiveATC software
  • Ability to connect Foreflight and iOS navigation apps
  • Guided Private Pilot and Instrument Rating training modules provided by Redbird

Interested in signing up to fly our simulators? Submit the form below and our Airport Manager will reach out to you shortly. If you have a configuration preference, please enter it in the “message” line.
