Informative

Jasper County Airport recently announced an exciting new way for area residents to reach Chicago, Indianapolis, and Lafayette. Thanks to a new agreement,  Lafayette Limo Service will now have Jasper County Airport as a regular drop off/pickup location.

Reservations

Once Lafayette Limo updates their computer system, Jasper County Airport will be a scheduled stop. Until the upgrade is complete, reservations can be made by calling 765.497.3828. Once the upgrade is complete, reservations will be available online on Lafayette Limo Service’s reservation website.

Parking/Boarding

Area residents can park at Jasper County Airport and hop on board the shuttle to go north toward Chicago or south toward Lafayette and Indianapolis. For safety and security reasons, anyone leaving a vehicle overnight is asked to contact the airport either by emailing info@JasperCountyAirport.com or by calling 219.866.2100. Overflow parking is located across the street at the Jasper County Fairgrounds.

World-Wide Opportunities

Anyone living in the region that has tried to schedule a national or international flight understands just how inconvenient transportation to and from Chicago or Indianapolis can be. While Jasper County Airport has continuously worked on improving customer experience, we struggled with finding a solution. We’ve had limited success with getting a national and car rental brand to have a vehicle based at the airport. Unfortunately, most national brands rely on regional offices to deliver a car, personnel permitting (which doesn’t always happen). We’ve had customers that flew their personal aircraft in for maintenance and needed to fly commercial airlines back home. We were left with finding a way to get them to the Chicago or Indy. Of course, there is the train station, but that has been unreliable and inconvenient to say the least. After a brain-storming session with Excel Air Services owner John Sjaardema and Technician Jack Hamstra, Lafayette Limo was brought up. We tried Lafayette Limo in the past, but at best, they would only stop at a gas station right off of I-65, if that. We reached out to them once again and plead our case. This time, they agreed!

Having convenient transportation to and from international airports really does open the community up to the world. Local services could be marketed nationally or internationally. Local businesses can easily get to their customers or have customers come here.

Although this doesn’t replace the convenience of general aviation and flying personal aircraft directly from point A to point B, it does provide an opportunity for growth and prosperity for our entire community.

We are really proud to bring this service to the community and are actively working on finding other ways to improve services to the community. Stay tuned for other great offerings!
