Invitation for Bids to Lease Farm Ground
NOTICE TO BIDDERS FOR CASH RENT OF JASPER COUNTY FARM GROUND
NOTICE is hereby given that the Board of Commissioners of Jasper County, Indiana, will at the hour of 8:45 A.M., C.S.T., Monday, February 10, 2020, in the Commissioners’ Room of the Jasper County Courthouse located at 115 West Washington Street, Rensselaer, Indiana, open sealed bids for cash rent of the tillable real estate which is located in the County of Jasper, State of Indiana, and described as follows, to-wit:
1. All tillable acreage, amounting to a total of approximately 28.32 tillable acres, which is a portion of the Jasper County Airport. There is a crop clearance regulation concerning this acreage. 2. All tillable acreage, amounting to a total of approximately 138.65 acres, north and south of Highway 114 near the Jasper County Fairgrounds.
3. All tillable acreage, amounting to a total of approximately 20.99 acres, situated near the Jasper County Detention Center.
4. All tillable acreage, amounting to a total of approximately 71.12 acres, abutting the western edge of the Jasper County Airport’s east-west grass runway. Parcels 1 and 2 shall be bid together and awarded together.
All acreage is located in Marion Township, Jasper County, Indiana. Maps are available for inspection at the Jasper County Auditor’s Office in the Jasper County Courthouse. Exact acreage will be confirmed by lease signing.
These bids must be in the hand of the Auditor of Jasper County on or before Monday, February 10, 2020, at 8:00 A.M., C.S.T., Courthouse Time.
Eligible bidders must be taxpayers of Jasper County, Indiana. Successful bidder must pay fifty percent (50%) of the bid at time of signature of contract. Fifty Percent (50%) of the bid must be paid by December 1, 2020.
Tenant will apply a minimum of 90 lbs. of potash and 135 lbs. of phosphate per acre for corn each year.
Tenant will apply a minimum of 75 lbs. of potash and 50 lbs. of phosphate per acre for beans each year.
Tenant will also provide yield data and proof of applications of the above minimums of fertilizer each year by December 1 of the crop year.
The lease shall be effective immediately upon signing until and including February 28, 2021; provided, however, that the successful bidder shall have the right by written request to renew said lease for up to two (2) additional years upon complying with notice requirements. If the bidder chooses to renew said lease for the two (2) additional years, bidder must pay fifty percent (50%) by March 1 and fifty percent (50%) by December 1 of the corresponding year.
The cash farm lease shall be awarded at the Commissioners’ Meeting to be held on February 10, 2020, or at a later date, if necessary. The right to reject any and all bids is reserved.
